Malabar Naval Exercise was conducted in 2007 in Bay of Bengal in whic five countries took part. These countries were India, the U.S.A., Australia, Japan and Singapore.

Malabar series of naval exercises have been joint exercises between india and the US held regularly from 1994 onwards. the one held in 2007 is however the first exercise where three other countries also participated - japan, australia and singapore. reports say it is perhaps the world's largest peacetime mobilisation of war vessels.

india also conducts joint naval exercises with russia (indra series) and with France (varuna series)

Vandana Shiva is a social activist and physicist by profession. She has been involved with seed satyagrahas for genetic diversity. She also runs a magazine by the same name.

Slowly we are losing out our global ambassdors like Baba Amte and Mahesh Yogi.

Baba Amte or Mulidhar Deodas Amte ran an ashram by the name of Anandwan in Maharashtra for Leporsy Patients.

Mahesh Yogi was another physics student who went on to teach transcedental meditaion to world. Among his discples famous were Beatles and Deepak Chopra.

This year also saw the demise of Chinmayananda Swami who founded Chinmaya mission.

Both Mahesh Yogi and Chinmayananda had an elaborate network of Ashrams abroad where as Baba Amte had his ashram in Maharashtra

Merriam Webster has published its 2007 word of the year, and the winner is w00t. Who would have thought that a word with numbers in it would make the cut? According to M-W, the word is an expression of joy (similar to yay). It’s also used by gamers to signify: ‘We owned the other team’.
