HELP Required!: Prepration Strategy

Kind Attn: IOs, IO Team and Forum Members
My name is Gaurav Awasthy, I am located in Lucknow, UP. I am planning to appear for 2010 UPSC Exams.
As I am a resident of LKO i am left with few options for getting help through coaching centers hence, in dielamma WRT which one of the below two strategies would be the right choice to make.

CHOICE 1:
Prepare for only G/S Prelims in LKO Through Coaching Centre
Prepare for Optional Subject 1 (Prelims + Mains) in LKO independently
Move to Delhi by Feb 2010 for QTY Improvement of Optional Subject 1

CHOICE 2:
Prepare for G/S Prelims+ Mains in LKO Through Coaching Centre
Prepare for Optional Subject 1 (Prelims + Mains) in LKO Independently
Move to Delhi ones Prelims have taken place.

It would be great if you could kindly suggest which one of the above choices is the best to go with, else please free to suggest any other strategy that would best fit my situation

well,
1. finish the syllabus, NCERT etc. by yourself for one time, and then move to Delhi / any classes so whatever they teach- you can grasp it better. because many classes directly start teaching advanced things assuming that you know the basic stuff.

2. get the coaching as soon as you can, delaying it -like- going there after prelims etc. - I would differ in that --in my opinion, coaching is for getting the inside view of how to prepare and study & understanding the content of the subject . once you know it - you can study @ home by yourself, so sooner you know how to prepare it better it'll be for you.

i.e. if you've finished the coaching sooner (like even before December) and made your notes, then after prelims you are by your own at home -preparing & revising peacefully.

Prepare for Optional Subject 1 (Prelims + Mains) in LKO independently

take the coaching of mains, then covering the prelims stuff by yourself won't be tough.
mains = analysis and understanding of everything,
and prelims is just remembering the fact, data.

please free to suggest any other strategy that would best fit my situation

don't take any coaching at all,-- just like me.

Kindly let me know if the below strategy has any flaws to it:
I am an B.Tech Graduate and My Optional subjects are Public Administration & Sociology. I am planning to finish Public Admin (Mains+Prelims) by Nov 2009 Independently. While i am quite confident with PA i have my own concerns with Sociology and G/S hence, preparing for G/S (MAINS+PRELIMS) with help of a coaching center in LKO right away and take up Sociology Mains preparation in Delhi after the prelims are done.
