Age limit changed ?

hello seniors,

I heard through NDTV that age limit for IAS Exam is soon going to change now it will be 25 years only is it true, coz VIRAPPA MOUILI COMMITEEE FOR administrative reforms comission give his recommendations ..

please someone throw light on this

my name is vipin.
I too have gone through the news for second ARC reccomendations, and i m getting confused as i m now 26 yrs and from general category.
If these recommendations are accepted then where would i go as for general candidates 25 will be the limit.

well well... they are just recommendations which are still not accepted... 2009 cse notification is out and the age limit is clearly mentioned in the notification... so no worries this year!!!!

Yes, this is yet to be accepted. The reforms recommended are interesting. But reducing age limit to 25 will make medicine and engineering students to loose their trust in Civil Service exams.

Also, some subjects will be removed from the optional list (probably engineering and medicine).

Lets hope for the better and fair outcome.
Anyways this year exam will not be affected from this.

Recommendations won't be implemented with immediate effect. UPSC will consider all the hiccups involved in those recommendations. Even earlier there was a recommendation to reduce the age limit to 28. But that hasn't been implemented yet. UPSC will inform well in advance if they are planning to make huge changes. We can hope for that.

no notification or corrigendum/addendum has come...so we can safely assume the earlier age limits are still valid

c'mon ashima, why dont you take the pain of reading the posts above? some members have already informed that age limits haven't been changed.
