Hi Indu,

You can also take Sociology but the thing is that we must have the passion and interest in the optionals we choose.Otherwise it'll be very difficult to prepare and excel the Exam.

I'm also planning to appear CSE on 2010 and my optionals are Philosophy and Tamil. Reg., Philosophy ,I already started the preparation but I'm also yet to make it in full swing.I think I need to refer the Encyclopedias and to take notes for the topics where the Standard books are not available.

Sankar
If you have got any books on philosophy...please let me know from where to get those books.....I am very much interested in Philosophy and Sociology...I am sure about these two optionals but doubt is only regarding which one to choose for prelims...

Tamil is a good choice...All The Best

Indu,

As of now I'm studying the "Indian Philosophy" by Dr.Radhakrishnan and Swami Vivekananda's Lectures. Vivekananda compares the western philosophy with the Eastern one and also he explains the context in a crystal clear. I'm searching for rest of the study materials and I'll let you know once i got it.

How's your preparation going on??

Default Postal correspondence in Philosophy

I m planning to take study material from vision ias - IAS MAINS Philosophy Vision IAS

Frankly speaking, this is the only institute which seems to be offering postal correspondence in this subject. But I dont have any feedback on the quality of its material.

If any of you have any idea then plz let me know before its too late!

Also let me know abt other institutes which offer this subject.

Thanks!

No wonder you can't find the book on Ethics by Lilly ...because its by F. Thilly NOT Lilly.
Am preparing for 2010. Philosophy and Sociology.

Is Vision the only place for guidance and notes. What about mock test series for prelims for philosophy online or otherwise (Delhi or Lucknow). Please help
