    Post Hi Friends

    Hi friends,
I am Thamizhmaran, new comer to this forum!
I read some of the threads and I am really happy that they have very much useful information.

I had finished my masters in IIT Chennai and currently working in Pune. I am preparing to appear for CSE in 2009. My first optional is Pub Admin(Prelims&Mains). Iam still confused about the second optionals between Tamil Literature and Geography. Though I have touch with the current happenings in the Tamil literature world, Iam not sure about classics! Also, I don't have any idea if there are any good coaching available for Tamil.

In general, I also need your expert opinions about the need for coaching.

I may be repeating some of the questios which might have been discussed in some other threads. If so, could anybody give some links to them?

    -Maran

    hello tamil,
good to know that you have done IIT at madras. Your 1st option is good one and it has easy meterial availabilities too. but you have mentioned that you are now in pune. So, for your 2nd option tamil, surely you have to attend the class . If you go for geography, then i hope you can do it in pune itself.
You need to attend class and write many tests to deal with Tamil. otherwise, it will be some how tough job. all the best

Thanks, Manivannan. That clears my doubt regarding the Literature as optional(though I have plans to quit the job after prelims).
I have gone through the Sociology syllabus too. I am reading the NCERT books to have an idea of the same. I find the subject interesting. I have read some of the non-fiction books earlier that touches the topics in the subject.
Will this subject suit for self study? And are the materials available easily?
