    Dear friend hi,
    Welcome and all the best.

Thats a good time to start.

Just few thing to start with, Start reading a news paper daily, prefereably The Hindu, TOI .while reading the newspaper keep in mind whats new has happened in politics, international news especailly one which have relation to india, keep an eye on our neighbour country etc, person or place that is in news and for what etc. states if they have came up with new or any update from past news etc.,

Do you have thought of your optional subjects. pre and mains

    Regards
    Kumar.

    Hey Nikitha..

If u have taken up Mechanical Engg. bcoz ur really intrested in it then ur job of opting d optional subject is already over and ur already preparing ur optional subject.

In fact, u say ur in the 2nd yr... so another 2 yrs to b a Mech.Engg..So ideally u have 2 full years to study..revise..write tests, exams and prepare for Civils.
(Remeber that guys from IIT,NIT.. also write this exam).

The other optional subject u can think of is Management coz u'll have few basic Management subjects in Engg. which will help.

Whatever it is, Choose the Optionals which u think brings out the best in u.

4 G.S u basically need to increase ur General Awareness...read News Papers.. Watch News,Debates (NDTV,TimesNow..)... Read NCERT books.. if required join some coaching centre atleast to get that study circle..

Most Important thing to Clear this Exam is Mindset. Be +ve. Don't let -ve thoughts effect u. Avoid -ve ppl.

Build loads of patience coz u have to sit for long hours 2 study.
The Ease or Difficulty of this exam depends on ur Mindset. Just Believe in urself and be calm always.. u'll do it 4 sure .. Don't even think of that 1,2,3,4.. attempts thing.. that will reduce ur intensity of preparation.. As I said, its all about ur Mindset backed by ur sincere efforts..

(Unfortunately or fortunately, I realised all this a bit late... Don't want u to loose ur precious yrs...Always better to learn from others experience).

    Ultimately, ur the best judge.

    All the Best!
