Default Intimation to the employer

Dear members

I am an officer in a PSU. While filling the prelim form i did not cancel the line stating "intimation to the employer". It means i have intimated to my employer for this exam. But the truth is that i have not. Now If i clear the prelim-2010 then do i have to attach any letter (showing permission given by my employer to appear for the exam)in the forms for the mains-2010 sent by the upsc. I am not under any agrement or bond with my employer. Should i intimate it now to my employer? How can anyone be in trouble by not intimating in written to his or her employer for appearing in this exam.

Thanks
Ronit

No you don't have to.

Page 3, Note 14 In Mains application form's instruction booklet.

Quote:
14. Persons in Govt. services whether in a permanent or temporary capcity or as work charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under Public Enterprises are required to submit an undertaking (as in declaration in the application form) that they've informed in writing their Head of Office / Dept. that the've applied for the examination.

I think only casual or daily rated employees are exempted from submitting intimation to employer all others have to submit it, what if someone doesn't give any intimation to employer?

Dear Sir

What is your interpretation of "Page 3, Note 14 In Mains application form's instruction booklet" regarding intimation to the employer? your replay was "No you don't have to". Does it means no need to intimate during prelims and no need to intimate during mains (if one passes the prelims). Please express your views.

Thanks
Ronit

you've to tell your boss only IF you're in Govt. services in a permanent or temporary capacity(casual worker doesn't count as temporary capacity.)

And you don't have to tell your boss if you're in PSU or pvt job.
