Default How easy is it to prepare for civil services exam for working person?

    Hi All,

I am working for a company.
work keeps me busy most of the time.
I get leaves on weekends, sat and sun fullday.

I am very much interested in knowing, how other members who are also working are planning their study.

My be in detail or briefly, as you prefer

its very difficult for the people who r going for work & spend there time..
u said ur working .. u have to spend atleast 6-8 hours per day even if ur working also.. suppose if ur not able to study so much hours then spend atleast 4-5 hours , if u say this also u cant then leave either ur job or the idea of taking IAS..
thats all i can say ..
if ur so much curoius & serious about doing IAS then u definitly leave the job ...

    all d best ..

Dinesh i'm not agree with you. A lots of guys those who r working are getting selected for th CSE.It is not very difficult to spare 4 to 5 hrs. daily even if you are working and if you are getting the leave on weekend you can add more hrs. to your study.

I am one of those many many working persons who made it. I was EA to the Chairman of a multi crore company, and one of my job requirements were accompanying the C'man to official parties, there were at least 2 in a week. But still , if the focus is there, then everything is possible. One thing i did was in moments of free time in office, to catch up with news etc on internet, read magazines and newspapers, and synopsize important topics into points. That helped a lot.
Friends, u can make it even if u r a working person. If I could, yu can, may i add that i was married, with a one and half year baby and in a joint family, but still the desire was there and the results were good.
In fact, my sister who is also in Income Tax has the same almost identical story, she was working as an Asst Professor, married with a two year baby and staying in joint family, she made it too.
So all the best, working persons, you can make it, bye

Ritesh is my good friend, and I know how much confidant he had been, I guess it was more so because of his wide experience. And that is why his Interview score was one of the highest, the one possibly can get: 240
