It would have a threefold impact on students:

    1. Till now all the people we read about do not exist during our life time or are relatively past. We dont have first hand access to their words as against Dr. Kalam whom we often here in various conferences or recordings. He continues to wield a powerful sway over the mindscape of young and ambitious Indians. So there would some kind of a tertiary feedback.
    2. Dr. Kalam is an example of a person who rose to heights by sheer dint of labor. His story of success is not only his alone but also India's story of success in his field. A boy from a small town, he rose to the presidency through non-political means. An engineer by profession and a visionary by choice, he gives inspiration to millions of technical workers to strive in their own field for the threefold principles he upholds.
    3. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam and his life inspire us to think of what is success and what successful means. Indian masses needs to be out of poverty, national values to be revitalized and the country as a whole needs to move forward on the path of economic development: the threefold mission of Dr. Kalam is akin to a guide both in personal and national endeavor.
But I really doubt that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's life and works would be included. And if it gets included, students would be able to understand how India has grown up in Modern times as his life is a journey not only from Rameshwaram to Raisina Hills but also a journey in many other dimensions. A good addition to the study of India After Independence indeed!
Life seems so good all of a sudden. Am I hallucinating?
