    Lightbulb Syllabus for Medical science

    Sir,
I've opted Medical Science as my option for both prelims and mains. When I reviewed the previous years question papers,I found that many questions were asked out of range from the syllabus, like for example, there's no mention about anatomy of cerebellum but few questions were asked ftrom it.The syllabus also states that "knowledge in the frontier areas of this topic is already expected of the candidates."What does this phrase exactly mean? Please reply sir.

hi I do agree with you but if you have noticed that certain topics like biostat, Ca breast, blood supply of gut , anatomy of stomach having spl interest of examiner. Questions are definately more tough in recent year as focus has shifted to genetics and micromolecular level. What are the resources of ur study?we can share good information in final period

is marking in medical science more liberal than other humanity subjects. is there is any advantage of taking medical science in mains in terms of scoring.

then what is the best strategy. Either do selective, that is most frequently asked question or whole syallabus in detail. its near imposssible to write answers in medical science without last moment revision and its hard to revise whole syallabus. what is your preferred strategy at present?

at present me concentrting impotant common topics . but i dont have old papers so that makes thing more difficult about how to be selective. In upsc its better to be more precise rather than descriptive

    i agree
syllabus is very vast and time consuming but what to do no other option is left out all these days i have been in that field so no way to go for another optional

for 2nd optional iam thinking of psychology as it is a lil bit close to the MS
