doubt-books for a begginer in GS

hiii friends...!!!!!
i started my preparation with NCERT books from 8th class onwards(social,science)...i'm not sure whether i'm able to recollect each and everything or not.....pls suggest me some book where i can revise and practice what i have read,.........mainly for GS and if possible pls suggest me sum books on mechanical engineering.

Make notes on what u want all u have read/studied .it will be helpful for your exam.ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOUR NOTES

yeah...what u said is right....i agree with you.....but my ques is........i wanted to knw how they are going to ask in prelims from GS........i dont hav any idea.....so to knw the pattern of questions i need a reference book of the similar topics.....pls help me in this regard...

Just go through that, you will come to know each and everything viz., what type of questions they are asking , How depth they are going into such answers you can find there in that publications.

Moreover, Just go through the newspaper everyday, why because in GS prelims Max questions will be based on current affairs, New things invented recently, reforms in Science and technology, Articles , Amendements, Social groups all those things.
