Default passing limit for language paper

I have heard that compulsory English and the optional language papers are qualifying in nature. Is it possible to interpret the assessment criteria for the two papers? Out of 300 marks what is the minimum expected? Plz help.

Default Re: passing limit for language paper

shwetakag what you have heard is correct. the aim of conducting these two tests is to assess the candidate's capability of written communication skills. as a civil servant one is expected to write quite a lot.

but dot worry unnecessarily about the qualifying marks in these papers. if you haven't had problems in passing these two papers in your +2 and graduation, you wouldn't have any problems in clearing them in civil services exam as well. make it a point to go through previous years papers and you'll know why i'm saying this.

spend a couple of hours once in a while for the paper and you'll be through.

there are similar threads on the same topic. please go through them as well. you can use the search function for the purpose.
