Thumbs up

Also one more query for you nethra....i understand from your posts that our optional is pa. I'm planning to take ps. Both of these are new for me and I've not yet made up my mind regarding choosing one among them. Can you give some analysis by comparing these two optionals.

Srinivas.

Srinivas.
About Pub Admin -> this is an scoring subject. in this you will come to know how our government is working. It also improves your language. it improves your knowledge. Now this subject has become most popular subject , as many number of aspirants are opting for it.

Public Administration has its own Vocabular, its own Set of Concepts, it own Language. & it is very easy to pick up & develop such vocabulary.Start with very simple book of P.A. which can give you an idea of what it is concerned. then go for important books to study.

About Political Science -> this is the master science & this is no exaggeration. it is a subject, which is concern with day-to-day affairs on individuals & society. this is the study of how people seek to govern themselves & make decisions to manage & solve their common societal problems.

you can opt for any of these two subjects for prelims & mains.
after opting see first that , your syllabi is good enough & you can finish up within time limit. see whether books can be easily available or not. check for previous years question papers also. keep onm revising daily.

all d best..

Hi chitra,
I take this opportunity to ans your query. If there is anything else, i hope the other members will add to it.
I faced the same situation when i was trying to shortlist the optionals. I decided to take ps and pa.But later came to know that these two subjects can not be combined as optionals. so decided to take sociology as the second optional.

@Nethra,
Hi nethra,
pa and ps seem to be lot similar to me. If you don't mind can u help me in differenciating b/w these two...(To make you my understanding clear, i'm under the impression that ps deals mainly with our constitution and our external affairs while pa deals mainly with our administration structure. pls correct me if i'm wrong.)

Regards,
Srinivas

yes...you had given an explanation. But sorry to trouble you again. I had highlighted my understanding in my earlier post. Actually i'm not able to differentiate b/w ps and pa. both seem to be similar to me.

And I wonder how the word 'anger' had crept into ur post....

Nethra, Thank you for your patience in answering my queries. Last night I had a glance of both these subs. Now i am comfortable with the difference of both these two subjects. Initially I was a little confused as most of the topics are overlapped in both pa and ps, and there is a lot of similarity b/w these. Now its ok. thank you once again.

Now I decided to take pa(for prelims) and I hope you will render your continued support to me. In some other thread, you have posted that it is better to start with a simple book and not to mess up with all the books that are available. Can you just brief me about, with which book i should start my preparation...and where i can get it it b'lore.

Can i get the TMH manual in Gangaram's as you mentioned earlier?

Regards,

savin,
rite now i reply to you , but if you have any other queries please put after 2 weeks, im now fully busy with my work.

that day you told had-- you have given the 1st attempt of prelims. i think you opted for ps. as you mentioned in one of the before post.
now why do you want to change for pa. it may get clash for you.

ok fine which ever you are feeling comfortable you opt.
you read P.A. written by mohit bhattacharya. you go to P.A. form see the booklist you can get some idea of it.
laxmikanth is compulsory.

you get TMH in gangaram's itself. all the books are available here.
even the book above mentioned also.
