Thumbs up Interview Questions and answers

Hi All,

I have opened this thread so that everyone can contribute their ideas towards what makes a good answer to certain common interview questions like:

1) Why do you want to be a civil servant?

2) If you want to serve your country, are you saying that only civil servants serve the country, not people from other professions?

3) If you have a technical background, why are you opting for CS which will lead to internal brain drain?

4) Why have you opted for Home state preference?

There are many more such questions that are pretty frequent and common. Please contribute such questions/your answers so that the prospective Interviewees can benefit from this.

Thanks.
Ruchi.

"Ã*nternal brain drain" - thats a new usage. ruchi_s can you please explain your ideas on that in your leisure?

i do hope you are not hinting that civil services do not require brains!

Hello Officer,

This is a term I came across when I went through some civil service interview collections. This is specifically targeted at candidates having an engg. or medical background who by opting for civil services won't be able to utilise their degrees to the good of the country. In that sense, it's a brain drain as the country won't be able to avail benefits from their technical education. Hope the clarification helps.

And no, I am not implying that civil services do not require brains

Thanks.
Ruchi.
