Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | A lucrative career as an officer( both ground and flying) in the IAF seems to be a thing of the past!!A lot many officers are unhappy with the conditions in the forces.Career opportunities stagnate a certain stage. With a meager annual increment of Rs 300 for a flight lieutenant there is also economic insecurity for an officer when compared to his civil aviation counterparts where as a captain of an Airbus is paid around 2,00,00 0. Also, the officers are faced with flying risks especially the helicopters like chetak which are yet to be phased out. The difficulty for young officers increases when it comes to choosing an apt wife. Here is a real time instance of a flight lieutenant who had been to the UK for training where cupid struck him. He fell in love with his British counterpart. Now the question of quitting IAF was out.An application to the IAF is still pending. Apart from this, the personnel remain;most of the times, away from family leading to home- sickness. With a lot of applications before it for quitting the forces, I wonder how the IAf and the government works out a solution to this !!! | ||
