- Delhi will soon have the country's 1st dedicted university for humanities.
- Ambedkar university , delhi, the second state varsity of delhi will be india's 1st solely devoted to social sciences & humanities.
- the AUD was established by the government of delhi in july 2008.
- the AUD has already started academic activities by offering PG diploma in development studies .
- 3 PG programmes will be offered by AUD from this year.
- it will offer MA in developmental studies, psychology & environment & development from this year which will be followed by UG & law programmes in 2010.

Highlights :
- this university will have 10 schools & 5 centres.
- it envisages a teach-student ratio of 1:15.
- it varsity has planned to propose a differential fee structure, so that no eligible student is denied a seat because of his/her inability to pay.
- thefee structure would be based on per-capita operational costs of the programme, economic & social background of the student & expected level of employment after graduation.
- the university is also planning to recruit faculties on the lines of jawaharlal nehru university, whereby a faculty will have the option of moving elsewhere after 4 years & being able to join the university again later.
- vice chancellor has stated that " we want to demonstrate a hybrid model of public & private initiatives & respond to hte evolving societal demand so; while our education will not be subsidized , it wont be as low as delhi university or as high as the private universities.
