optional subjects dilemma

hi to every one
when i came across this site i was really thrilled to see such a platform where your queries are really answered such a great work
if some one could please help me choosing my optionals i'll be highly indebted to them.My dilemma regarding various subjects are as follows:
1.HISTORY- have a liking towards it but its lengthy subject is somewhat backing me away
2.GEOGRAPHY-not really interested but the fact that it covers G.S. as well is making me think for it
3.PHILOSOPHY-have a liking to it but is really not sought after as other subjects and also no availability of local guidance is a holding factor
SOCIOLOGY & PUB ADMIN seems like going for bcz one can easily find so much of information on internet as i can't join any coaching institute
please guide me i will take whatever KUSHAL SIR and other respected members would suggest me

it appears you are not very clear as to what it tkes to prepare for civil services. please go through the syllabus and previous papers.

it is not a correct approach to take the subjects that others suggest. you should take that optional that suits you the best. please go through earlier threads on the same topic and come back with specific queries in relevant forums.
