Mathematics Optional.....

Hi Officers & Friends,
this is ashwin from hyd.i chose maths as an optional for <acronym title="UPSC Preliminary Examination">prelims</acronym> and mains.but most of the people whom i met told me that it is very tough to get through mains while having maths as an optional,they even told me that an IITian(M.sc maths) cant make it and only very few make it.is it really that tough?.But i have lot of interest in maths,there is no other subject which can interest me more than maths,i wanted to apply for CSE2010.there are 2 institutes which cropped up recently (a year back),they teach only mathematics,but im not sure of their credibility.
what should i do? if i wanted to go head with maths as an optional,is it worth trying to be in hyd and taking assistance from the institutes in hyd or should i definitely come to delhi as it is "the only best place(hub)" for mathematics optional.so friends please suggest me, looking forward to ur reply.

Hi Ashwin welcome to Indian officer, first i would like to suggest you that don't let the thought come into your mind that mathematices is tough and most people don't get through it. lots of students clear mains with mathematics every year just you need to put effort in this subject, delhi is no doubt a hub for the students and coaching classes for civil services but shifting to hyderabad or delhi is matter of your choice.

if ur really intrested in it then it would be a better choice fr u.....
even iam frm electrical engg background,...i like my subject very much and want to take it as one of optional....everyone was saying nt to opt fr it...but i find easy with my subject....
