at present no ncert books available in ncert website. its temporarily out of service. i dont know when they update it.
i can suggest you to once go through this website for history which i found through google long back.: History Tution,History of India,History of Ancient India,Medieval History of India,Modern History of India

i decided to write the csat 2011 exam ,
but iam the new one to civil service preparation ,you please guide me to break the csat 2011 ,about study materials ,how can manage time ,how much hours to study in every subject daily,iam rural area student ,i studied in tamil medium ,what are the magazines and newspapers to read out ,please guide me sister i think you had lot of experience about the civil service preparation

NCERT E-books for UPSC Preparation:Mrunal (yes free ofcourse)
for 'Old version NCERTs' try your luck at some of those book-banks or bookstores dealing with reselling old books.
