here is my problem.
I had subscribed to Chronicle for Year 2010-11 in December 2009.
In January 2010, I got the issue.
but in February 2010, I don't get any issue.
Now I call the helpline, the chronicle guy says he'll send me that issue but next time if i don't receive any issue, he'll not send it.
And he tells me that I should get the 'Registered Post option' for extra Rs. 210/-.
for 1 year's subscription I've already paid 550 Rs. via money order
Now if I add 210/- more, for getting the magz. via Registered Post
then my investment would be
HTML Code:550 for subscription +210 for getting it via registered post =760 Rs.(for one year)
Now on the bookstall, the chronicle price
duh, that means subscription becomes costlier than the buying the loose copies from the stall.HTML Code:60 Rs. (Prelim special Issue) x 6 issues = 360 + 50 Rs. (per Regular Issues) X 6 issues = 300 --------------------------------------------------------------- = Total 660/- (for one year)
earlier they used to send via courier for extra 100 Rs. but I called him today and he says they longer do that.
- anyone having similar problems or experience?
- should i complaint to the Post office in my city ? that I'm not getting the magz.? any chances of getting help from post office or will it be just a time waste exercise?
mom is always at home, so its not that postmen threw the magazine and someone stole it from the door.
I think that someone from the postal dept. cycle steals it.
In 2008-09 cycle, i had Wizard subscription but they had same problem- randomly the magz won't come, but upon calling them, they'd send the magazine later on.
but I hadn't received their issues in October-November 2009 (My Wizard subscription was supposed to End after November's issue.) I had complained to helpline but they didnot do anything, and since mains were near, I bought magz from bookstall despite having the subscription.I had talked to the postman but he didn't give any satisfactory answer except saying 'it happens sometimes'
so this time I switched over to Chronicle, but its same story.
Moral of the Story
if you're planning to 'subscribe' - think twice, because sometimes its better (and cheaper) to buy it from bookstall.
The only Good thing is that, I've been receiving Kurukshetra and Yojana regularly,![]()
I think because they're so boring and cheap so nobody cares to steal it from the postal dept.
